PRO-LOK Site Launch

As a project, PRO-LOK is a shining demonstration of our team’s ability to provide better resources to our clients. We have completely redesigned the look and function of the site with simplicity, ease of use, and accessibility in mind.  Five Lines Media is pleased to announce that the new website site for PRO-LOK is live and ready for the world to view!

The new website and modern shopping cart will help PRO-LOK keep pace with an industry always on the go with a rapidly growing line of manufactured products; it also sets them up to become a trusted resource for information in their industry. Not only does their improved storefront provide better information to their customers but they will be able to: track and service transactions quickly, educate customers, connect through newsletters, become a part of the conversation through social media integration and more!

With 32 years of experience and 17 patents, they are a trusted innovator among Orange County enterprises. Their products are so popular with locksmiths, tow truck drivers and law enforcement that they have literally written the book on auto entry and designed some of the best gun security products out there!

When we were asked to help them with a new website and online marketplace, we jumped! Here is a look at some of the things we were able to achieve for Pro-Lok:

The jumping off point was creating a new website with clean visuals and easy-to-use navigation. And since a number of Pro-Lok’s affiliate clients are mobile locksmiths and tow truck companies, they needed a site where visitors could buy products and find information from any tablet, phone or desktop they might use in the field.

Improved Visuals and Intuitive Navigation

Aside from our obvious love for clean and efficient coding, we also love super modern visuals that help focus the visitors attention without cluttering the page. We used sharp logo images and a simple white, grey, black and blue theme with red for pops of color.

The full-width navigation fields provides a clear dividing line to focus the reader’s attention to the lower content space. And users can quickly navigate from one brand to another.

Along with a new design, it was imperative that we also bring the PRO-LOK shopping cart up-to-date. To do so, we gathered all of their existing product information in order to synthesize each new product page. Now customers can find the detailed specifications, videos, or affiliated products they didn’t even know they wanted.

Since PRO-LOK is a major manufacturer with a large catalog of over 600 unique products — or thousands when you consider color or other finish variations — we needed a secure and consistent behemoth of an eCommerce tool which could provide the customization and reporting necessary for success. WooCommerce allow us and the client to seamlessly manage, link, sell, track, service and market any product at the drop of a hat.

PRO-LOK is able to set special pricing for affiliate retailers or industry service technicians, estimate shipping rates and configure tax settings according to their needs. And with bird-eye view reporting tools they are able to meticulously manage incoming sales in real-time — this helps PRO-LOK provide even better customer service in a quick and responsive manner!

Making PRO-LOK a Resource of Information

Finally, we wanted to demonstrate PRO-LOK’s value online in the same manner they act as an industry innovator and leader in the machine shop. Aside from sharing the odd company announcement, we have provided them with a space to educate or start a conversation with their customers.

Education begins on the product page. The shopping cart includes custom fields so products can bring each of their associated technical drawing(s), free online instruction booklets, ‘how-to’ videos or other enhanced media under one roof. And if that were not enough, all of the supplemental documents can be found on their own pages so visitors are sure to find them.

Blogs, Newsletters and Social Media Integrations

Education continues in new and exciting blog content and newsletters. PRO-LOK executives are already contributors to well-known industry magazines providing guidance, tips or announcing upcoming product releases. They can now bring that content directly to their online visitors and encourage them to converse, share or head to the shop to buy.
